Farécla HQ given major facelift

The head office of Farécla in Ware, Hertfordshire has been renovated and rejuvenated. While the architecturally award winning exterior has been untouched, inside the building is unrecognisable from how it looked before the transformation. Walls have been knocked down, new flooring laid and furniture replaced to give the offices a more contemporary look and create one large, open-plan working environment. An upgraded phone system has also been installed.

The board room has also been moved and given a makeover with new lighting and furniture. Within the new office design an informal break out area with comfortable seating offers staff an area to conduct internal meetings or relax during their lunch break.

Plans for the new interior began last November. A number of concepts were carefully considered before choosing one and putting it out to tender in January 2015. Building work began in March and was managed so that staff always had somewhere safe to work and there was minimal disruption to business working hours. ‘We created temporary work spaces for staff while the contractors worked around us,’ said David Crossley, supply chain manager at Farécla, who project managed the whole operation for maximum efficiency. ‘As soon as one area of renovation was completed, another temporary work space would be set up for our employees. Basically, the contractors worked continually from March to May to complete the building transformation and we never stopped working either.’

The stunning interior design has been done to a very high standard and reflects Farécla’s strong corporate image. The light and airy, well organised new interior has been given the thumbs up by staff, who are finding it a more effective layout as well as a more comfortable workplace.

‘I am delighted with the improvement the new look offices have made to our business,’ said Michael Haddon, managing director, Farécla. ‘The modern open plan office enables all the teams to be much more connected to each other and aware of the business as a whole. The more contemporary working environment is also a physical indicator of a wider business transformation that has been taking place at Farécla, where a very solid platform for future growth is now in place.’
