Axalta raises funds for leukaemia charity
Axalta Coating Systems is sponsoring a team of its UK employees to compete in the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research Blenheim Palace triathlon, which takes place on 14 June 2015.
The four-strong team will be raising money for the charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, which has been working to beat blood cancer for over 50 years.
Julian Lambert, technical support representative at Axalta Coatings Systems in the UK, said, ‘I took part in a triathlon earlier this year. That prompted some of my Axalta colleagues to suggest we form a team, compete together and raise money for a good cause. The Blenheim triathlon, at Blenheim Palace, seemed like the perfect event for us and we all felt very moved by the good work that the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research charity was doing.’
The Axalta team of Hugh Eaglesham, Julian Lambert, Colin Lovern and Tony Rae has been training hard. ‘We’re all really looking forward to it,’ continued Julian. ‘This event in the grounds of the Palace in Woodstock, Gloucestershire, attracts triathletes from all over the world. It’s a beautiful location, but more to the point we know we are raising money for a fantastic cause. Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research works to prevent people from developing and dying from blood cancers, and to improve the life of blood cancer patients.’
