Selsia wins innovation honour

Vehicle Accident Centres has won the prestigious Fleet World Innovation Honours Award 2015 for Accident Management.

The awards celebrated the brilliant, the new and the genuinely helpful innovations companies have brought to the fleet market in the past 12 months.

The presentation of the awards took place at a special awards luncheon at the Royal Automobile Club in London’s Pall Mall. Selsia’s centrally managed fleet accident repair services with its Selsia Central online repair management portal was singled out by the judges as worthy of the prestigious ‘Innovation in Accident Management Award’.

Selsia Central assists all of the parties involved in an accident to make the repair process work seamlessly. The flexibility of Selsia’s 24 hour service starts with drivers, depots or fleet transport teams who are already set up on the online system, notifying Selsia of an incident where a full insurance approved claim form is completed and which can be automatically forwarded to insurers to mitigate third party claims costs. Fleet depots can also generate a basic instruction to the relevant Selsia repairer to collect the damaged vehicle and upload estimates and images to the Selsia system where the fleet can authorise online. The Selsia system is kept fully up to date by repairers throughout the repair process so that fleets know when their vehicles will be back in service and rental companies know when their vehicles will be available for hire. For management control purposes, all documents relating to the incident, including estimates, images, and invoices are available in the one location on the portal.
Selsia has also added bespoke functions such as its cosmetic repair estimating facility for particular van models as well as the re-home facility where extra documentation can be uploaded to report the incoming and outgoing condition of vehicles being relocated within the fleet.

Selsia’s innovative service was judged to be of particular help for fleets in helping to manage their vehicle accidents from first notice of loss through to final collection and central invoicing where they have their fingers permanently on the pulse. The system can be used for every size of vehicle from cars and vans to the heaviest commercial vehicles. The Selsia service was judged to be able to substantially reduce vehicle loss of use as well as significantly reduce the 42% of the cost which is directly attributable to the managing and administration of an accident.

Fleet World editor and judge, Steve Moody commented ‘The flexibility of the Selsia Central web portal ensures that everyone involved in an accident is kept in the loop, all of the time. It liaises with all parties, insurance, the repairers and the fleet, with the result that administration and management costs are as much as halved’.

Selsia’s marketing director, Neil Marcus commented ‘this award means absolutely everything to the team and our 100 plus approved accident repair centres. We all work very hard to make sure that our fleet, leasing, rental and insurance clients receive the most efficient and cost effective repair service we can possibly deliver. Our innovative service means we can get their vehicles quickly and safely repaired and back on the road as quickly as possible. Considering we make no charge for using our service, it’s little wonder that more fleets are now choosing Selsia to centrally manage their accident repairs’.
