Competition heating up at 2015 Skill Auto

The IMI Skill Auto 2015 heats are now underway, kick-starting today at the Eyebox, Coventry.

The competition is run by the Institute of the Motor Industry and aims to find the top new talent within the automotive body repair, vehicle refinishing and automotive technology industry.

Having already completed an online knowledge test, the qualifying technicians will compete in one of three heat programmes: Autorefinish, 13-15 May at 3M’s training centre, Atherstone; Autobody repairs, 3-5 June at Eyebox, Coventry; and Autotech, 15-19 June at Jaguar Land Rover Academy, Warwick.

The top six scorers from each discipline across all national heats will then be invited to participate in the UK final held at the NEC Birmingham in The SkillsShow, the largest careers and skills event in the UK from 19-21 November 2015.
