UKWOTY to launch at Donington Park

UK Worker of the Year (UKWOTY), a competition set up by Dickies, is set to officially launch at Donington Park, at the first MCE British Superbike round of the 2015 Championship.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Dickies has run the national competition, aimed to recognise and reward hard work in the UK workforce. Despite the website for entries already being live for those who wish to get their early entries in, Dickies will use the start of the MCE BSB Championship to parade its nationally-contested initiative, much similar to last year.

2015 has sprung exciting changes to the UKWOTY competition, with Kawasaki coming on board as an associate sponsor. This has resulted in the manufacturer offering this year’s winner a uniquely liveried Ninja 300 motorcycle.

The bike will be a one-off, with the winner set to be the only person in the UK with such a bike. Should the winner opt against taking home a brand new motorcycle, there is also the choice of a £5,000 luxurious holiday as the main prize. The runner up in 2015 will receive £2,000 worth of holiday vouchers, with third place scooping an impressive £1,000 in vouchers.

Dickies has again announced that the competition will play host to the ‘Dickies £100,000.00 Challenge’, with the winner having the chance to win a life-changing sum of money. The prestigious title will be announced at the last MCE BSB Championship round at Brands Hatch in October, with the winner having the chance to predict the top six outcome of the final race and walk home with the £100K cash prize.

These thrilling changes were announced shortly after last year’s winner Chris Teale, a heating and plumbing engineer from Barnet, drove away with a brand new car.
Chris stated, ‘I would encourage anyone that hears about the competition to enter. It doesn’t cost a thing, apart from a few minutes of your time. I recall hearing about the competition last year and thinking about how it was too good to be true, but I was proved wrong. I cannot thank Dickies enough for recognising and rewarding the efforts and dedication I gave given to my industry. I look forward to being a part of this year’s competition and possibly helping find a deserved winner.’

Maurice Morton, sales and marketing director at Dickies, said, ‘We are looking towards Donington Park with huge excitement. It will be great to get the competition up and running for another year, and our involvement with the Be Wiser Kawasaki team makes the anticipation for the upcoming round that even more special. The number of entries and the standard in the UKWOTY competition has got higher every year, and we are expecting no different for 2015.’
