Time for a BEN challenge?

The London to Paris 24 Cycle Challenge requires strength, determination and stamina and the automotive industry charity BEN, is offering a final opportunity for seriously keen cyclists to take part in the 2015 event, departing on Friday 5 June and returning 7 June.

The competition is heating up and among the entrants who are taking part in this incredible challenge are Frank Massey, director at Automotive Diagnostic Solutions, Mark Hadaway, editor of bodyshop magazine and Stephen Brighton, managing director, Hepworth Honda.

The registration fee is £99 and the minimum sponsorship of £1, 000 covers transport on the Eurostar, accommodation plus all food and drinks (except Eurostar). As well as a guaranteed place in one of the most exhilarating cycling events, BEN will support entrants with training tips, help set up justgiving or virginmoneygiving sites and even provides a bag of goodies to keep their cyclists on the move. Join the Strava forum (www.strava.com/clubs/BENMotorCharity) and share training strategies, monitor progress and connect with other cyclists.

On taking up the challenge, Frank said, ‘I am fortunate to be in good health and appreciate those who are not need our help and support. My aim is to raise support from all my friends and contacts within the independent sector to reach a minimum target of £2000, to aid this great and diverse charity. Cycling is an absolute passion of mine – next to the automotive industry of course – so my intention is to finish in style.’

Bekki Chandler, BEN’s events executive, commented, ‘Thank you to everyone who has signed up for this exceptional challenge. It takes true strength, determination and stamina to take part. There are still places available and I would love to hear from anyone who is up for a challenge with a difference.’

The closing date for booking is the end of March.
