Copart’s 2024 ESG Report reveals sustainability successes
Copart’s 2024 ESG Report has revealed that the company’s global operations have enabled the avoidance of more than 12 million metric tons of CO2e during the past financial year.
It has achieved this by extending the lifecycle of vehicles and harvesting green parts.
The report also highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting communities, customers and colleagues in an ethical way.
Copart UK has played a key role in supporting the wider company’s ambitions with a range of initiatives.
Through its wholly owned subsidiary The Green Parts Specialists, it dismantled nearly 8,000 vehicles, providing recycled parts to the repair industry, while also investing significantly in storage capacity, equipment, logistics capabilities, and technology applications.
The ISO 45001-certified company has also enhanced engagement and culture through ‘Teammate Voice’ and employee forums, while its new, interactive e-learning platform Accelerate has been introduced to deliver unique development paths.
Jeff Liaw, CEO Copart, said:
“From our inception, sustainability at Copart has been foundational, in environmental terms and otherwise. Copart’s marketplace extends the useful life of vehicles, components, and materials with every transaction we enable through our auctions.”
