Reforms to UK apprenticeships explained

Apprenticeship Central will publish a report helping automotive businesses understand and make the most of sweeping reforms to UK apprenticeships.

The government introduced the Get Britain Working White Paper last November as part of widespread changes intended to reshape apprenticeships and workforce development.

The White Paper outlines significant changes to localised support, Job Centres, and a new National Jobs and Careers Service.

Meanwhile, the Youth Guarantee Scheme aims to provide every 18 to 21-year-old with access to apprenticeships, quality training and education opportunities and the Growth and Skills Levy promises greater flexibility with £40m in funding.

These changes could deliver greater funding and more flexibility to automotive businesses seeking to attract young people. To help them make the most of these opportunities, Apprenticeship Central will publish a full report next week considering how these reforms could create real, lasting impact and new opportunities for growth.
