PPG has launched MaxMeyer AquaMax Extra, its latest advancement in waterborne basecoat technology, building on the success of AquaMax 2. This innovative product is designed to revolutionise the free-to-choose bodyshop industry with its cutting-edge features and unparalleled performance.

AquaMax Extra is a water-based double-layer system that offers numerous advantages, ensuring that bodyshops can achieve superior results with greater efficiency and ease.

Key benefits include:

  • Increased tinter range: AquaMax Extra provides repairers with a brand-new basecoat range, comprising of a 90-tinter scheme which includes high strength tinters for increased coverage.
  • Extra colour formulations: The increased tinter range on this new platform increases available colour formulations by 800%, ensuring that repairers have access to all colour formulations, variants and specials from PPG’s global colour database, resulting in a perfect repair, every time.
  • Seamless blending process: Achieving seamless colour blending is quick and straightforward, without the need for dedicated additives.
  • No stirring required: Thanks to the constant pigment concentration, there’s no need to stir the product. Additionally, no special additives are necessary.

New available colour codes include F5A – Pacific Blue; F6Z – Rallye Green; 46G – Machine Grey; 46V – Soul Red; 51K – Rhodium White; and EQB – Orange Valencia.

Bodyshops will benefit from “unparalleled colour accuracy” with AquaMax Extra’s range of solid colours, aluminiums, pearlescent and special effect toners. These products utilise cutting-edge pigments and are fully aligned with current and future OEM trends.

Coatings advancements

The pigments used in MaxMeyer AquaMax Extra facilitate the reproduction of the latest colour trends from car manufacturers. The inclusion of aluminium in the product line allows for better reproduction of the original colours. Xirallic Tints, Special Effects, and Chromaflair enable users to keep up with new special effects used in the original paintwork.

PPG LINQ and the MOONWALK automated mixing machine are also now available to MaxMeyer customers, thanks to the launch of AquaMax Extra. These tried and tested innovative tools further enhance the efficiency and precision of the refinishing process, providing bodyshops with state-of-the-art solutions that help save on waste material and increase throughput for a more profitable bodyshop.
