Two UK automotive apprentices triumphed for Team GB at WorldSkills Lyon 2024, winning a Bronze medal and Medallion of Excellence.
More than 1,500 young people from 69 countries took part in the four-day event in France, which tested participants in a number of skills across a range of industries.
In the Car Painting category, Miguel Harvey from Steer Automotive Group Stratford-upon-Avon, won a Medallion of Excellence, which is awarded to competitors who score above the international standard.
Meanwhile, James McKeown Accident Repair Centre apprentice David McKeown, who trains at Riverpark Training in Northern Ireland, secured Bronze in Autobody Repair.

Everyone competing in WorldSkills has demonstrated their potential as future leaders and innovators. We want to support everyone across the country to access opportunity, no matter who they are or where they’re from.”
