NFDA unveils #EVolveYourCareer skills campaign
The National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) has marked GCSE week by unveiling a new campaign to encourage more young people into the industry.
As part of its Drive My Career initiative, it has unveiled #EVolveYourCareer. The campaign is promoting the wide range of career opportunities available in automotive, from finance to marketing to technology, whether through apprenticeships or entry-level positions.
Sue Robinson, chief executive of the NFDA, said: “With nearly half a million people employed in the retail side of the automotive industry in the UK, the sector offers substantial employment prospects. As the industry shifts towards electric and sustainable vehicles, careers in automotive allow individuals to contribute directly to environmental and sustainability efforts.
“The #EVolveYourCareer campaign is a vital initiative to showcase the expanding opportunities within the automotive sector, particularly in the growing field of electric vehicles. This initiative aims to encourage young people to consider the diverse and exciting career opportunities within the automotive industry, especially as the sector rapidly transitions towards electric vehicles.
“By highlighting the industry’s diverse career paths and the vital role of EV technicians, we aim to attract the next generation of talent and ensure the continued growth of our industry.”
Robinson concluded:
“By participating in campaigns like #EVolveYourCareer, we can collectively make the automotive sector more appealing to the younger generation, helping the industry thrive as a whole.”
