Groups join AkzoNobel’s Sustainable Repair Network

AkzoNobel has welcomed four more UK vehicle repair groups into its Sustainable Repair Network.

Pennings, Alton Cars, Veetec Motor Group, and Impact Repairs have all followed The Vella Group onto the programme, which was launched last year to help customers in the EMEA region become more sustainable and efficient.

Each has achieved a Level 1 Certification after working with AkzoNobel’s team of experts and using the company’s proprietary Carbon Pulse application to generate insights about their energy consumption and emissions. They will now work with AkzoNobel to develop strategies for future improvements across their repair centres, including changes in equipment, processes, and choice of products.

Alton Cars operates a bodyshop group with 17 repair centres, Pennings has three sites, Veetec includes five sites and Impact has four repair centres.

Sustainable Repair Network

Commenting on the groups joined the Sustainable Repair Network, Paul James, strategic accounts manager Vehicle Refinishes UK & Ireland, AkzoNobel, said: “Ultimately, we are working towards finding areas where these businesses can reduce energy consumption and the associated emissions, and identifying other key levers to reduce their impact on the environment and advance towards a more sustainable future.

“We now have five of the UK’s leading accident repair groups, which collectively have more than 30 repair centres across the UK, working with us and where we know we can make a difference.”

He added:

“This is just the start for us. Our Sustainable Repair Network is open to all repair businesses looking for support on their sustainability journey, who can benefit from the knowledge and experience of sustainability experts and our growing portfolio of products and services to make a long-term difference to the operations and their business.”
