BVRLA to turn spotlight on scope 3 emissions
The BVRLA will turn the spotlight on scope 3 emissions during a one-hour online session aimed at unpicking the challenges and demands for businesses when it comes to achieving regulatory compliance.
Scope 1 emissions are those produced directly by the company, scope 2 emissions are those produced indirectly by the company, such as energy usage, and scope 3 emissions include all other emissions produced as a result of the company’s activities, such as emissions within the supply chain.
The new government has promised ever-stricter legislation to drive a green agenda, which means even smaller businesses such as single-site repairers can expect downward pressure from insurers and work providers around sustainability.
Spotlight on scope 3 emissions
With the spotlight on scope 3 emissions, the BVRLA has announced it is partnering with ESG experts Ben Horn and Dr Marc LePere at Omnevue to provide an insightful online session on Wednesday, 25 September, which will cover scope 3 reporting requirements.
Course delegates will learn to identify the specific business activities that are likely to trigger a compliance event and gain a basic understanding of what sustainability disclosures are required for each. The course is aimed at business owners, directors and leaders, or those in charge of finance, compliance or sustainability.
The BVRLA course will specifically address:
- Basic understanding of data requirements
- Likely consequences of non-compliance
- How to best prepare your business from a data collection and reporting perspective.
