ADAS under the spotlight at Car-O-Liner Awareness Day

Collision repair equipment supplier Car-O-Liner hosted an ADAS Awareness Day on behalf of the National Body Repair Association (NBRA) at its Rugby headquarters.

The event was attended by repairers, manufacturers, and insurance engineers.

It was organised to deliver a deeper industry understanding of the range of benefits and challenges presented by ADAS.

An NBRA statement said:

“The comprehensive ADAS overview provided attendees with valuable insights into current vehicle technology and a preview of upcoming advancements. This knowledge-sharing session emphasised the importance of staying updated with the latest technological developments to ensure safety and efficiency in vehicle repair and insurance processes.”

The Awareness Day followed the news that the ADAS market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.9% over the next four years, adding nearly £26.2m to the global market.

This is according to Technavio, which attributes the substantial growth to surging demand for safety features in electric and autonomous vehicles, the falling prices of sensors, and greater use of AI in car technology.

However, the report warned that as ADAS adoption increases the repair and maintenance strain on bodyshops will also ramp up.
