Steve Thompson steps down from AutoRaise role

AutoRaise apprenticeships survey

AutoRaise has announced that Steve Thompson is stepping down from his position as vice-chairman.

This follows the recent appointment of Matt Caldicott as general manager.

Thompson has been part of the industry charity for five years, having joined as a trustee in 2018. He was appointed vice-chair in 2019 and also took on the role of overseeing operations of the charity’s activities.

However, he will now step down to focus on his core businesses.

Thompson, managing director of Industry Insights, said: “Working together with the AutoRaise partners, employers, and apprentices, and the myriad of vehicle repair industry stakeholders for the past five years in our industry, alongside my core businesses, has been rewarding, challenging and fun. We have delivered on a series of ambitious plans, secured new partnerships and financial backing, and successfully aided repairers and apprentices via transfer of Apprenticeship Levy funds.

“The plan was to recruit a general manager to hand over the day-to-day operations of AutoRaise. Matt Caldicott joined ahead of the recent AutoRaise Rally, and is empowered to get the job done to deliver a strong vision, ambition, and positive culture for the charity.”
