Balgores hosts inaugural apprenticeship day
Balgores Motor Group has hosted its first ever apprenticeship day.
The East Anglia group invited apprentices to spend the day on site, meeting team members and carrying out practical tasks with a number of suppliers, including Sata, Mirka, Sikkens, LKQ, Auto Assess, Henkel and Farecla.
Balgores managing director and chairman Paul Austin also met with apprentices via a zoom call, before training provider Auto Assess held a quiz, donating an iPad to the winner.
The day ended with a presentation recognising the overall performance of all apprentices across the group, with David Lindert taking top honours and being awarded a prize of 20 driving lessons. Keeley Tait claimed second place, winning a Sata minijet 4400 with Callum Schembri and Connor Johnston sharing third place and winning Sata primer guns.
Balgores Group said: “We want to thank all our suppliers for their time and for very kindly donating prizes to the raffle or presentation gifts throughout the day.”
Balgores operates repair sites across East Anglia, with a dedicated academy encouraging the next generation into the sector through on-site work experience and an opportunity to join the Balgores Apprenticeship Programme, which includes MET technicians, Panel technicians, Paint technicians and Vehicle Damage Assessors.
