SMR campaign launched to maximise revenues
LKQ Euro Car Parts has launched a new campaign to help garages enhance their service, maintenance and repair (SMR) offering and bring in more revenue.
The SMR campaign will focus on the products, technology, training and tools independent garages need to complete every job efficiently and to a high standard – with the evolving make-up of the UK car parc in mind.
Four key focus areas will be promoted between now and May, each of which represents an opportunity for garages to increase revenue and improve outcomes for drivers.
‘Around the engine’ will cover everything from drive belts, oils, clutch kits and spark plugs, to preparing for the influx of Direct Shift Gearboxes (DSG) and hybrid vehicle technology set to enter the independent aftermarket. Garages are being encouraged to tap into LKQ Euro Car Parts’ Powertrain Team – a unique resource designed to streamline the supply of major components.
‘Around the wheel’ will include brake servicing and replacement, shocks, springs and alignment. The campaign will also cover ‘exhausts and emissions’ and ‘serviceable items’, and will promote additional back office services, garage management solutions and training opportunities throughout.
Colin Cottrell, marketing director at LKQ Euro Car Parts, said: “It’s important for independent garages to stay up to date with the very latest in SMR, to keep themselves competitive and encourage customer loyalty through excellent service.
“Making sure every SMR task is completed efficiently and effectively isn’t just a garage’s professional responsibility; it makes good business sense too. As well as maximising billable time in the workshop and increasing the likelihood of future custom, those in the know can upsell additional checks like brake fluid and wiper replacements, along with complementary services like battery health checks, to increase revenue and give drivers additional peace of mind.”
