Fix announces network double

Fix Auto UK has announced the recruitment of Fix Auto Norwich and Fix Auto Peterborough.

Owned by Chris Hammond and Duncan Exton and managed by Neil Breame, Fix Auto Norwich is housed in an 8,000 sqft bodyshop featuring two spraybooths – one of which dedicated to high-sided vehicles and LCVs – and 12 work-bays.

Hammond said: “We have been working towards joining Fix Auto UK for some considerable time. In order to join the network we relocated our previous business to make way for our Fix Auto operation.

“We know how important it is for Fix Auto UK to have a presence here on the east coast so we have effectively created a whole new business complete with a new team. It really is an exciting move for us, if all goes according to plan, we aim to become the network’s latest multi-site operation by expanding into other areas of our region.”

Fix Auto Peterborough is a 5,500 sqft purpose-built repair centre situated behind four car dealerships all owned by the Smith family. Until now, the facility primarily served the Renault, Nissan, Hyundai and Vauxhall outlets but, on joining the network, it will broaden its appeal to retail customers and Fix Auto UK’s insurers.

Manager Barry Monk said: “This is another exciting new chapter for the business. No one in the repair sector can ignore what Fix Auto UK is achieving, being part of that network will elevate and firmly place us on the map. Smiths Motor Group has been serving motorists for more than 80 years, 50 of those years we have been repairing vehicles. We have a fine reputation that is certainly well-established but are always keen to develop and broaden our business’s appeal, joining Fix Auto UK and creating its own identity will be key to that progression.”

Mark Hutchins, head of commercial at Fix Auto UK, said: “In what has been a tumultuous year for all, as 2020 draws to a close and hot on the heels of our successes in Liverpool and Manchester, we are delighted to welcome two key franchisees which undoubtedly further strengthens the network in what is another key region for us.”
