Claims volumes remain strong into November
Claims volumes recorded on the CAPS platform held firm in the first week of November.
Its figures found that unique claims were 105% compared to the period immediately prior to lockdown, up 6% on the previous week, while supply chain transmissions were at 96%, 7% up on the previous week.
It suggests these steady figures are a result of Lockdown 2.0 not being as disruptive as the first lockdown, as the repair sector has remained open and continued to exchange claims.
CAPS said: “The analysis so far is indicating that what we have is a steady continuous exchange ratio, despite many reporting a reduction in new claims being created. Essentially this may create improved efficiency of time taken from accident to repair start, due to reduction in new claims and repair shops remaining open. The analysis so far indicates that we’ll continue to see exchange levels remain as they are.”
