Double delight for great Scots

A year since joining Fix Auto UK, Fix Auto Edinburgh Central owners Graeme Richardson and Ryan Matthews have opened their second repair centre.

The businessmen who stepped up from running repair centres to owning their own in March last year, have now opened Fix Auto Dundee a state of the art 22,000 sqft facility.

Following a significant investment programme over the past seven weeks, they have transformed an empty shell of an industrial unit into a new repair centre. It features two spraybooths including one to process commercial vehicles along with 32 work bays. Sixteen staff have initially been recruited with plans in the pipeline to further strengthen the team as the centre establishes itself.

Ryan Matthews said: “When we joined Fix Auto UK, we did so with complete belief the move was perfect for our business. We made a promise that we were not joining to make up the numbers. We joined with ambitions to expand and develop the business.

“Our Edinburgh operation has grown beyond all recognition which is largely down to the confidence and support we have received from the network. It is that confidence, despite the ever-present threat from Covid-19, that has driven us to open our second site in Dundee.”

Graeme Richardson added: “A year ago we believed Edinburgh had the capabilities to repair up to 200 vehicles a month and we regularly surpass that. Dundee has been meticulously designed to ensure maximum and efficient workflow. When fully staffed I do not see why we will not be exceeding that figure there too.”
