Smith honoured with Silver Medal
Former director of regulatory affairs at the British Coatings Federation Wayne Smith has been awarded the coatings industry’s highest honour, the Silver Medal.
This award was created to recognise outstanding individual service to the paint industry in the UK and those who have contributed to its growth, health and reputation. The Silver Medal is not normally awarded to BCF staff members, but the BCF board of directors unanimously agreed this was a special and exceptional case.
Smith said: “I was surprised and truly honoured to be awarded the Silver Medal. I was aware that it is only given to those who have made a substantial contribution to the industry and usually to company members. It is satisfying to know that the work I have done for the Paintmakers Association and BCF over the last 29 years has been appreciated. I would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported me and for the friendship they have shown. I will look back on this time with fond memories.”
