Select offering sparks industry interest
Select Bodyshop Group (SBG), the new grouping for independent repairers, dealer and VM bodyshops which launched just three weeks ago, is already reporting “significant” interest and membership applications which are “exceeding expectations”.
Founder Dale Hing, whose stated aim for the group is to “provide real value in helping bodyshops to become more profitable and sustainable”, has been delighted with the response.
“Following our opening announcement at the end of July, we continue to receive significant levels of enquiry,” he said. “Speaking with so many good people across all bodyshop sectors is fantastic, with many remarking that an opportunity to be part of SBG with its many exclusive benefits is just what they feel is needed.
“There is also plenty of interest from other industry stakeholders and this will add to our comprehensive package.”
Hing said that membership places are still available and bodyshops confirming their interest will be guaranteed full membership status and their own geographical area within the group.
“It is generally believed there is likely to be a further reduction in the number of bodyshops in the UK, and due to various accident reducing dynamics there will also be fewer crash repairs available,” Hing added, while reiterating that the group is inviting UK repairers to team up and reap the benefits of being part of a larger organisation while retaining their own unique identity.
