Commuters turn away from public transport
More than 60% of people will turn their backs on public transport from now on.
A new survey carried out by Motorpoint found that the coronavirus pandemic has changed mindsets with 60.2% of those questioned saying they will not return to buses and trains.
These figures chime with the increasing demand for cheaper used vehicles.
Mark Carpenter, chief executive officer of Motorpoint, said: “This is reflected in the types of cars that customers are currently searching for on our website, with environmentally and economically-friendly superminis among the most popular, as commuters look for cost-effective alternatives to their current mode of transport.”
