Thatcham’s Andy Hutchins retires after 40 years

Thatcham Research has announced that Andy Hutchins has retired after 40 years in the industry.

During that time he has held several roles from mechanic, team instructor and a senior technical trainer.

He said: “Working at Thatcham Research for over 40 years has been a huge honour for me and is an achievement I’m proud of. I came to Thatcham Research in 1979 fresh out of an apprenticeship knowing very little about the world. But the organisation has helped me grow, learn new skills and even travel the world, visiting countries such as Trinidad and Tobago, South Korea and Malaysia.

“One of my proudest achievements during my time at Thatcham Research has been being involved in the journey and development of the Automotive Academy. Being able to train so many in the repair industry has been extremely rewarding for me.

“I feel privileged to have spent my working career at this fantastic organisation. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved and know I’ve made memories and friends for life.”
