Tesla sets new delivery record

Tesla deliveries rose 40% last year, rising from 244,920 cars in 2018 to 367,200 in 2019.

It had a set a target of delivering between 360,000 to 400,000 cars.

Having sold 103,200 cars in 2017, it means Tesla delivered more cars last year than the previous two years combined.

The rise was driven by demand for the Model 3 Sedan. It sold 1,550 units in 2017, 63,150 in 2018, and 92,550 units in the final quarter of last year alone.

It is projected that by the end of 2020, Tesla will be delivering at least 500,000 cars annually.
