TrustFord celebrates two automotive awards

TrustFord is celebrating after two colleagues were recognised at the inaugural Inspiring Automotive Awards. Sharon Ashcroft, HR director and Sinéad Reid, regional HR manager, were selected as two of the 30 winners.

Sharon Ashcroft leads TrustFord’s recruitment, people management and collegue development operation. She manages a busy department that provides HR services for over 3,000 employees across the UK and Channel Islands.

Meanwhile, Sinéad Reid has been instrumental in organising TrustFord’s Northern Ireland Ford Fair, as well as volunteer days and team building activities.

Stuart Foulds, chairman and chief executive of TrustFord, said, ‘We’re extremely proud of Sharon and Sinéad’s recognition by the Inspiring Automotive Women Awards. They both inspire and motivate their colleagues by leading through example and we’d be lost without them. It’s incredibly important for our business to have strong female leaders such as these in our midst and they are helping to pave the way for the next generation of who will help shape the automotive industry.’

Julia Muir, CEO Gaia Innovation, founder of the UK Automotive 30% Club, said, ‘I was inspired by the women I worked with when I first joined the motor trade to launch these awards to celebrate and recognise the unsung heroes of our industry. Often their valuable contribution is appreciated and acknowledged within their own teams or by customers, but they are rarely given the public recognition that they deserve for their efforts to create a positive working environment.

‘I want to honour these brilliant women who are lifting others as they rise” and make them more visible. All of our fabulous winners such as Sharon and Sinéad have demonstrated they are making a significant contribution to their business. They are also committed to inspiring other women and creating inclusive working environments to help show that the automotive sector is a positive career choice for women.’
