NBRA introduces Green awards

The National Body Repair Association (NBRA) is recognising the work bodyshops are dong to protect the environment by introducing the first Greener Bodyshop Awards ceremony.

The event which will be held at Birmingham’s Sealife centre on Thursday 31 October, will bring together bodyshops and suppliers of green services and products to the industry.

Chris Weeks, director of the NBRA, said, ‘The first Greener Bodyshops Awards ceremony will recognise vehicle body repairers in the industry who are committed to reducing their impact on the environment, by implementing measures for pollution and energy reduction.

‘There are many ways we can help as an industry to make changes to improve the environment. By using recycled or recyclable materials, low energy consumption products, efficient extraction systems, greener spray booths, better waste management and collection, motion sensitive lighting, and partnering with car companies for electric courtesy cars, we can all make a difference.

‘These are just some of the small changes we can implement with the hopes of making larger more impactful changes in the future. The NBRA together with Orwak wish to lead the way and begin to award and recognise those who wish to join us on this journey for a cleaner greener future.’
