U-Pol supplies fledgling academy

U-Pol has provided a vast array of its products to a fledgling project created to help young people within the care system make their first steps into a career in the industry.

The UK’s leading manufacturer of products for the vehicle repair sector has supplied Joe’s Autobox Academy, a joint venture with Right Resolution CIC – a community interest company working with young people throughout the county – with its class-leading fillers and finishing coatings including its critically acclaimed Raptor protective coating.

The products will be used to help train them with the skills to gain the City & Guilds qualifications needed to develop into an apprenticeship.

Joe’s Autobox is a modest vehicle repair centre in Bunting Road, Northampton, set up by Gurol Hussein. He has converted his repair centre into a training academy specifically for the project that has up to four students at any one time.

Kevin Henry, U-Pol’s national technical manager for the UK and Ireland, said, ‘We have been producing products for more than 70 years, a majority of time has been here in Northamptonshire. What Right Resolution and Joe are trying to achieve with these young people is admirable. There is a huge shortage of new, young, talent in the car repair industry so helping out in anyway possible was the least we at U-Pol could do.’

Amarjit Pawar, director and projects manager for Right Resolution CIC, said, ‘We are a non-profit organisation and funds are extremely tight. We reached out to U-Pol to see if they could provide support in anyway and, again just like Joe, they emphatically embraced what we are trying to achieve by providing all of the products needed to train the guys.

‘What started as a pipedream has, thanks to Joe and to U-Pol, materialised into a training academy with the ability to help these young people with a major start out in life.’

Joe, said, ‘I’ve been repairing cars for too many years to mention. U-Pol products are among the best in the business so being able to teach and train the students with such quality products is a dream.’
