ChipsAway given IMI approval

The ChipsAway training centre has been assesses and approved by the IMI.

ChipsAway has received accreditation from the leading organisation for automotive learning and development, IMI, for its professional training processes, assessments and facilities. The ChipsAway training course is an IMI approved Quality Assured Programme (QAP) leading to a Quality Assured Award at the end (QAA).

Every new ChipsAway car repair specialist is required to complete four weeks of intensive technical training at the ChipsAway Training Centre in the West Midlands. The specialists are assessed after they have completed the four weeks of technical training, and can achieve accreditation by demonstrating their knowledge and skill as a car repair specialist.

ChipsAway have a team of experienced technical trainers who work hard to support the new specialists in their 4-week training journey. Simon Kings, Technical Director who oversees the training programme, has 19 years’ experience in bodyshop full accident repairs. Simon joined ChipsAway in 2007 as a trainer and qualified as a Senior IMI Approved Technician in 2013.

Simon Kings, technical director, ‘We are extremely proud of our IMI Accredited Training Course and Centre, we have been assessed as excellent on our last 4 annual inspections with top marks on training delivery and administration records kept.’

Tim Harris, managing director added, ‘ChipsAway is committed to providing outstanding, professional and safe training for all new repair specialists.
