‘Community firmly at its heart’

Taggarts Land Rover Lanarkshire has gifted £2,000 to a local hospice. The donation was made to St Andrew’s Hospice in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, which provides specialist care to people living with life limiting illnesses.

As well as providing a vital service in the local community, the hospice also has a personal connection to Taggarts Land Rover general sales manager, Dominic Cameron, whose father-in-law was cared for by the hospice before he sadly passing away last year.

Staff at the dealership have now agreed to visit the hospice themselves to see first-hand the good work that is carried out with the help of such donations.

Dominic said, ‘It was very satisfying to be able to support St Andrew’s Hospice in this way as they were absolutely brilliant when caring for my father-in-law. The staff there were so caring and I just want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to them once again.’

The new Taggarts Land Rover dealership, which is part of the larger Lookers group, opened in February 2019 following a nine month, multi-million-pound redevelopment programme, and is proud to support its local community.

Bob Grant, Lookers Jaguar Land Rover franchise director, said, ‘We are very proud to have such an important service as St Andrew’s here in the local community and commend every one of the caring and compassionate staff that work there.

‘While we may be part of a large national dealership network, Taggarts Land Rover Lanarkshire very much has a sense of community firmly at its heart, which is why we were more than happy to be able to make this donation.’
