EDT solutions in more workshops

Engine decontamination specialist EDT Automotive has joined forces with Whocanfixmycar.com (WCFMC) to ensure its fuel-saving and emissions treatments are available in more UK locations.

The collaboration with EDT Automotive allows WCFMC to add the decontamination treatments to its network of garages.

Rachael Waddicor, national business development manager at WCFMC, said, ‘We’ve seen some strong interest from our garages, with a good number of initial sign ups to the EDT scheme. Once we’ve assembled a national network of workshops that have EDT machines installed, we will promote EDT’s services to our drivers who book in repair and service work through our website, providing them with the necessary information on where a treatment can be undertaken.’

EDT’s system cleans the engine’s oil system, preparing it to receive the new oil without any contamination from the residue normally left after conventional servicing.

The unit heats and pulses a light mineral oil in and around the engine’s oil system, breaking down the carbon, sludge and wear-abrasive material and vacuuming it out through the sump via a 1 micron filtration system.

Results typically include better fuel economy, increasing MPG by up to 26%, as well as lower emissions by up to 69% and CO and diesel smoke reduced by up to 58%.
