Foggy opens Wigan site

Motorcycle racing legend and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here winner Carl Fogarty officially opened Fix Auto UK’s latest express repair facility Fix Auto Fix & Go Wigan this week.

‘Foggy’ as he’s better known, paid tribute to business owners Dave and Stephen Pollitt as well as managing director Andy Sankey, who has been the driving force behind the six-figure investment, during an official opening ceremony that attracted industry representatives to the Lancashire repair centre.

Built close to the existing Fix Auto Wigan site, the purpose built 7,500 sqft state-of-the-art repair centre has been developed to further increase productivity for the company. They are now able to triage repairs that take hours to complete rather than days to the new Fix & Go site which in line with the Fix & Go ethos.

Speaking at the grand opening, Andy explained, ‘Like so many repairers we have found the lighter repairs all too often slow up productivity from our main site. But not anymore. We have seen the success of fellow Fix Auto UK franchisees who have developed their own Fix & Go centres and we have simply followed suit by designing and developing our own to provide a true express repair service. It has been operational for a couple of weeks and while we are still trialling processes and training staff, the initial signs of increasing our productivity are looking really promising.’

He added, ‘Foggy is a close friend of the business. We have worked on his cars in the past and he’s often said if he can help us in some way he would. Therefore, he was the obvious choice to do the official opening for us.’

Speaking on the day, Carl said, ‘It’s a pleasure to come down here. I’ve known Dave and Andy for a long time, they’re two hard working guys who always do a great job. They have always looked after me with the odd bumps and scratches I have with my own vehicles, I’m just paying them the compliment back.

‘What they’ve achieved over the last couple of years since becoming a Fix Auto UK site is particularly notable. You can see the partnership with Fix Auto UK is really working. They kept this new building a secret from me so today is the first time I’ve seen it and it’s really impressive. Having an express repair facility where a car can be repaired as quickly as possible so close to the main site is a win win all round.’

Ian Pugh of Fix Auto UK said, ‘The Fix & Go model is our way of modifying the repair centres in terms of the way vehicle repairs are constantly evolving. It is certainly proving to be a great business venture for our franchisees who have developed the concept. Officially opening this site today is great start to 2019 for Fix Auto UK and represents a new phase of our business and bodyshop operations.’

‘When you attend events like these and witness just how driven our franchisees are into making these investments in order to improve their services to our client base and motorists alike, it is really humbling. I wish all the guys involved here the very best for their future.’
