EMaC reports further growth

UK customer retention experts for the automotive industry, EMaC, is reporting another year of growth for its Service Plan sales, generating over £252m worth of aftersales revenue in 2017.

As industry news continues to report declining demand for new cars – January saw a 6.3% fall compared to the same month in 2017 – EMaC’s success in boosting aftersales revenue streams will offer much needed reassurance for dealers looking to bridge the sales gap.

John O’Donnell, managing director of EMaC, a subsidiary of Innovation Group, comments, ‘The latest SMMT figures confirm that 2018 is going to be a tough market for dealers.  Demand for new cars fell across the board in January with business, private and fleet buyers down year-on-year.  Pressure will not only be on dealers to secure sales but to make the same profit margins experienced in less challenging times.  However, although consumers are holding onto their current vehicle for longer, this presents opportunities to dealers.  By helping car owners budget for maintenance and servicing costs, dealers will not only increase customer loyalty, but maximise aftersales revenue, as our generated Service Plan sales figures for last year demonstrate.’
