Fix Auto backs AutoRaise

Fix Auto UK has presented AutoRaise with £5,000, thanks to the generosity of guests who attended the franchisor’s recent national conference.

During the network’s annual awards dinner held during the two day conference, a prize raffle for a Microsoft Surface Tablet – kindly donated by Autoflow – took place, generating donations of more than £2,300.

The fundraising effort was then boosted by a spontaneous auction of an Apple iPad mini kindly donated by Ben Healey of Fix Auto Birmingham East, who had won the prize during an internal competition earlier in the day. Following some frenetic bidding involving franchisees, suppliers and guests, the iPad mini was eventually sold for £1,500 – more than four times its usual retail price – to Steve Leal of Fix Auto World.

Despite missing out in the auction, Darren Clark, sales director of Advantage Parts Solutions generously donated an additional £500, and the overall fundraising was completed by Ian Pugh of Fix Auto UK, whose £700 donation rounded the total up to £5,000.

Fix Auto UK’s head of marketing, Tom Hadfield said, ‘Thanks to the incredible generosity of all the guests who attended our ‘Achieving Peak Performance’ national conference, I am extremely proud to be able to present £5,000 to AutoRaise, to help them with their impressive efforts to reverse the industry’s skills shortage problem. AutoRaise has some very exciting plans for the future, and we hope that our donation will help them to accelerate these.’

Bob Linwood, CEO of AutoRaise, said, ‘This is absolutely breath taking. AutoRaise can’t thank Fix Auto UK enough for considering us as beneficiaries in the first place. As for everyone who so kindly donated, it’s difficult to sufficiently express our gratitude to you all as this will go a long way in finding and capturing new talent of the future that our industry so desperately needs. Thank you so much.’
