DVLA auctions world cup registration
A personalised registration commemorating England’s world cup victory of 1966 is being auctioned by the DVLA – 50 years since the historic win.
The registration WC66 ENG will be among 1,500 being auctioned during the Agency’s live summer three-day sale at the Morgan motor factory in Malvern from Wednesday 20 July.
WC66 ENG – or lot 1,368 – will go under the hammer with a £400 reserve during the closing stages of the event on Friday afternoon – 22 July, eight days prior to the 50th anniversary since England’s historical victory.
Adam Griffiths, of DVLA Personalised Registrations, said, ‘We wanted to commemorate England’s World Cup win of 1966 in some way and then, after researching the possibilities, we discovered the WC66 ENG new-style combination was available. Hopefully, it’ll find its way to a fan.’
DVLA Personalised Registrations has brought together an eclectic mix of personalised registrations to suit all tastes and budgets. The forthcoming auction will consist of a total of 1,500 registrations.
