Blackbushe celebrates 500+ sales day
For the second time in six weeks BCA Blackbushe sold more than 500 vans in a single day.
The Blackbushe centre sold through two halls and buyers turned out in force, both in the auction halls and bidding via BCA Live Online. Vehicles sold on the day ranged from late year, low mileage models, through to hard-worked, older, high mileage examples, with stock entered by fleet, lease, finance, local authority and dealer sources.
BCA’s LCV operations director Duncan Ward said, ‘This is a significant result that reflects the first class teamwork at Blackbushe and the strong support of both buyers and sellers at the centre. This result also underlines the current strength in the marketplace.
‘For some time now, we have reported strong levels of demand for LCVs at BCA, with a buoyant marketplace pushing up average values. The overall sentiment from trade buyers is that retail demand is good and this is keeping the auction halls busy as dealers compete for stock. There is also a better mix of product available for buyers with a wider choice and less duplication of models.’
Duncan added, ‘Reflecting interest from the small business sector, BCA is seeing plenty of demand for any vehicles with a retail type specification, an unusual configuration or special equipment. Buyers are looking for vehicles to service the online delivery sector, so typically larger panel vans in good condition are sought after. There is also ongoing demand for tippers and dropsides from the building and civil engineering sectors.’
