Fix apprentice makes regional awards final
An apprentice paint technician from Fix Auto Birmingham East has been named as a finalist for a major regional training award.
Adam Wilson, who has worked for the repairer for two years, has had his skills recognised with a nomination as a finalist for the South and City College of Birmingham Automotive Apprentice of the Year.
Adam who lives in Coventry but commutes to the Birmingham bodyshop daily, will be joined by Fix Auto Birmingham East operations director, Ben Healey at the city’s Macdonald Burlington Hotel on Friday 11 March where the winner will be announced.
Ben, said, ‘Adam is a super lad who clearly has a passion for the job which is showing in the quality of work he is turning out for us. He has embraced his college course with great enthusiasm which, combined with his fine skills, singled him out to his lecturers who put his name forward for the award.
‘Being nominated as a finalist is an award in itself and we are all extremely proud of Adam and his achievement. Fingers crossed, he’ll go one step further and be presented with the overall honour of being named Apprentice of the Year.’
Adam, who studies at South and City College of Birmingham, said, ’I’ve loved cars for as long as I can remember and have always wanted to work in the industry in some way. When I left school working as a paint technician and in a bodyshop appealed to me.’
