NAB seeks agreement clarification
The National Association of Bodyshops (NAB) has received a number of calls from members expressing concerns regarding recent proposals to amend credit repair arrangements on behalf of Redde plc (Helphire/Albany).
In response, NAB contacted senior figures at Audatex UK Ltd, Euro Car Parts Ltd and Redde plc, seeking clarification on the proposed contract amendments associated with the work referrals.
NAB has received responses from Paul Sykes, managing director of Audatex UK, acknowledging receipt of NAB’s communication and advising that they would investigate the concerns raised by members. Martin Gray, CEO of Euro Car Parts/LKQ, has also contacted NAB and set out ECP’s position in terms of their relationship with both Audatex and Redde plc. NAB is hoping to receive a response from Redde (Helphire/Albany) imminently.
Frank Harvey, head of NAB said, ‘Our members asked us, as their representative body, to seek assurances as to the precise nature of the contract amendments and to ensure that such protocols do not have the potential to mislead consumers and motor insurers.
‘As a trade body, we have no way of assessing the accuracy of these concerns. However, we have approached all parties involved in order to seek clarification.
‘We will continue to keep open and regular contact with the three organisations, in order to ensure that our members’ interest are represented at the appropriate level, as well as continuing to update our members.’
