FMG wins recovery contract

Derbyshire County Council has selected FMG to deliver a rapid response and roadside repair and recovery service to its 1,600 vehicles.

The fleet comprises cars, commercials, buses, gritters and mobile libraries, and the two-year FMG contract includes roadside repairs where possible, and driver, passenger and vehicle recovery where not.

A key aspect of the service will be the centralised management of all recoveries, giving the Council real-time access to data at every stage of each recovery for the first time.

This will be delivered via FMG’s Ingenium business intelligence service, a web-based system which tracks and reports on every transaction following an incident.

Such data will highlight overall fleet performance, breakdown trends and provide full visibility of cost.

John Catling, customer service delivery director at FMG, said: ‘Keeping drivers safe, creating process efficiencies and saving money for our customers is at the core of our business strategy and we are looking forward to working with Derbyshire County Council to deliver the safest and most time-efficient specialist recovery service.’
