Gold is the colour
My Gold will be the colour of the automotive industry in 2016, according to McLaren supplier AkzoNobel.
The company launched its colour and trends guide for the new year at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, after carrying out its own detailed market research and combining that with input from external design experts.
Stephie Sijssens, colour design manager for AkzoNobel Performance Coating, said, ‘Our team searches the world for the latest in design.
‘We want to inspire our industrial customers and together develop the colours, effects and textures for the products of the future.’
According to the research carried out by AkzoNobel, the key word for 2016 is transition.
Stephie explained, ‘It’s about finding a balance between extremes to create change from within. This trend is epitomized by My Gold, which makes a timeless, yet personal statement.
‘It has the brilliance to turn heads, but also combines extremely well with other shades, such as classic black and white, or new neutrals like dark tones and soft pastels.’
