Allianz unleashes its inner superhero
Allianz Global Assistance UK had a heroic team of 100 volunteers working behind the scenes on Friday evening to answer phones for BBC’s Children in Need 2015.
The volunteers were on hand at the company’s Croydon call centre, collecting over £53,163 in donations. Once again the call centre was a hive of activity, with an evening of fun events and local special guests to add to the party atmosphere.
Cronx Brewery offered beer and refreshments to volunteers throughout the night, with coconut water from Vita Coco, sandwiches from Simply Lunch, Pizza Hut pizzas, crisps and drinks donated by Platino and shortbread to nibble on from Walkers Shortbread. Goody bags for each volunteer included sweets, water and puzzles from Total Merchandise and free magazines from IPC Media. Meanwhile, Enterprise Rent-A-Car kept energy levels up with doughnuts over the course of the evening. Crystal Palace also kindly donated tickets to their upcoming match against Sunderland, which were handed to volunteers during the course of the evening.
The volunteers were entertained by a magician, massages and face painting, to keep spirits high. Allianz Global Assistance also held a raffle, with prizes donated by generous businesses, including Kings Hill Golf Club, Saracens Rugby Club, Farleigh Golf Club, Aston Martin, Croydon Park Hotel and many more.
Serge Corel, chief executive officer of Allianz Global Assistance in the UK and Ireland said, ‘Children in Need has become a firm fixture for the team here at Allianz Global Assistance UK and it is something that we look forward to each year. We always come together to do our bit for this fantastic cause and this year, the team collected over £53,163, thanks to all their hard work and enthusiasm.’
‘Once again, this was an incredible night, but it wouldn’t be possible without the support and generosity of local businesses, who once again donated prizes, food and services to keep our volunteers going. Children in Need is a highlight on our calendar and this event forms one part of our ongoing commitment to supporting national and local charities, as well as working closely with the local community to support and raise funds for worthy causes.’
