Kia models set the pace in used car sales

Used cars are selling 10 days quicker on average than last month, with two Kia models selling in just 11 days on average.
According to data from Auto Trader, used cars have been finding a buyer in an average of just 29 days this month, compared to 39 days last month.
Meanwhile, both the Kia Ceed (petrol, up to a year old) and the Kia Carens (5-10 years old) were leaving forecourts in an average of only 11 days. Alongside the Kia Ceed, other nearly new used cars on this month’s top 10 list include the petrol hybrid version of the CUPRA Leon, and the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE, both of which are currently taking 14 days to sell.
At the opposite end of the scale, cars aged between 10-15 years are taking around 39 days to sell.
In terms of fuel types, used electric cars find buyers in an average of 29 days, slightly ahead of petrol variants (30 days).
Richard Walker, data and insight director at Auto Trader, said:
“The speed in which used cars are selling is a good barometer of the underlying health of the used car market, and as we fast approach the end of the first quarter of 2025, it’s clear the seasonal slowdown is being left in the rear-view mirror. Car buyers are still attracted by great value and peace of mind, and the fact the Ceed exceeded the current national average by around two weeks, really highlights just how popular it is amongst car buyers.”
