Dr Aleksandar Damyanov, technical manager at Green NCAP, said: “We hope that these results will help buyers make clearer decisions concerning the environmental impact of a wide range of cars available on the market in 2024.
“Green NCAP understands that it is not only the environmental attributes that attract buyers to greener or electric but also their kudos, driving performance, and power. Whilst testing, we also saw different attributes that are of interest to consumers.
“In Green NCAP’s new rating to be released later this year, all stages of testing will include a Life Cycle Assessment, and we will offer information about vehicles’ different charging behaviour and capabilities, cold weather performance, driving range, and more details on energy efficiency. We know this will improve the quality and understanding of the real value of electric cars.”
