FixMyCar to launch Apprenticeship Advice Guide

A new digital guide is being developed to help steer repairers through the process of bringing new automotive apprentices into their business.
This comes after new research from FixMyCar found that 34% of repairers would be prepared to take on an apprentice, but 64% said they don’t know how to go about it.
It has now said that it will release its digital Apprenticeship Advice Guide to all paying members by the end of the month, marking the start of a much broader campaign focusing on recruitment in the industry.
Matt Wrankmore, head of garage network at FixMyCar, said: “We have so many great repair businesses on our network that truly care about their profession and the future of it. They understand that hiring and training young people is the way forward.
“However, there is a clear knowledge gap that is creating yet another recruitment barrier. It’s more important than ever that this is recognised and acknowledged within the industry, as it is a responsibility we all share.
“That’s why FixMyCar is committing to providing all subscription garages on our garage network with an Apprenticeship Advice Guide as a first step in helping to bridge this knowledge gap.”
