Digital service boosts revenues for independent bodyshops

Revenues for independent bodyshops swelled by £22.26m in the last quarter of 2024 through BookMyGarage services.

BookMyGarage is an online MOT and services booking website.

The growth, which translates to a 10% year-on-year rise, underlines the increasing confidence among motorists to manage car maintenance online and use digital tools to find local repairers suited to their needs.

BookMyGarage chief marketing officer Jessica Potts said: “At BookMyGarage, we are heavily invested in driving traffic to our website which in turn enables many in the independent sector to attract custom from car owners who are otherwise unlikely to have come across their business. Our partners tell us that our platform drives high quality customers who often remain loyal to their garage for their ongoing service requirements.”

Its data also revealed almost half of booking went to businesses signed up with its Accelerate package, which was launched last February to raise the profile of bodyshops through social media advertising and targeted online marketing campaigns.

Bodyshops on the Accelerate programme, which guarantees a minimum of 60 bookings per year, accounted for £10.7m worth of all work generated via the BookMyGarage platform, with clients recording an average return on investment of 866%.

Potts concluded:

“Motorists expect an easily accessible and transparent booking process where a range of products and services are also provided. Many are looking for convenience and quick availability. However, all BookMyGarage customers want excellent customer service and transparent pricing.”
