Automechanika’s ‘Thirty Under 30’ to celebrate young talent

Automechanika Birmingham has unveiled its own “Thirty Under 30” competition for this year’s trade show in June. The new awards feature is dedicated to recognising and celebrating exceptional young talent from across the whole automotive industry, including body repair, SMR and detailing.

Headline sponsored by Comma and partnered by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), the AMB2025 Thirty Under 30 award will recognise individuals aged 30 or younger who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in the automotive industry.

It will include technicians to those in other key roles throughout the sector, and aims to be a celebration of the talent that is driving the automotive industry forward.

An expert panel of judges, including representatives from the IMI, Comma, School of Thought and Automechanika Birmingham, as well as Bodyshop magazine editor Simon Wait, will assess each entry based on key qualities such as passion for the industry, proven track record, career aspirations, forward-thinking, adaptability, resilience and courage.

Judges will also look for applicants who are shaping the industry and have gone above and beyond in their roles.

The final 30 will be celebrated at a Thirty Under 30 awards ceremony during Automechanika Birmingham 2025 at the NEC, Birmingham on the Ignite stage within the Motorvate Feature Area on 3 June.

The prize-giving event is free to attend and nominees are encouraged to invite colleagues and friends to join in the celebration.
