Steer Automotive Group launches Steer Electric Eastleigh

Steer Automotive Group has launched Steer Electric Eastleigh, the group’s first purpose-built electric vehicle repair location. This new facility in Eastleigh is located just off the M27 near the Southampton import docks, providing excellent accessibility and convenience.

Steer Electric Eastleigh spans more than 14,000 sqft and is designed to accommodate the latest in electric vehicle technology and repair capabilities. It features full aluminium structural repair capabilities and integrates advanced EV technology tooling and equipment to meet the demands of the current and future EV parc.

Steer launches Steer Electric Eastleigh

The Eastleigh site’s EV-skilled technicians have undergone extensive training to handle the complexities of electric vehicles, including comprehensive courses on EV safety, battery management, and high-voltage systems. Partnering with leading industry bodies and educational institutions, Steer Electric has ensured its technicians stay updated with the latest advancements in EV technology.

In line with the group’s commitment to sustainability, the Eastleigh site is equipped with solar panels that generate some of the site’s energy needs and aims to use ESG-compliant parts where applicable. The facility also includes EV rapid chargers available for both staff and customers, emphasising a dedication to environmental responsibility.

Additional features of the Steer Electric Eastleigh facility include 1000-lux LED lighting on motion sensors for optimum efficiency, state-of-the-art valet facilities, a customer consultation and meet-and-greet area, and a staff lounge and break-out area for comfort. In support of Steer’s cycle to work scheme, the site also offers covered bicycle rack storage on site.
