Hyundai UK holds Skills Olympics
More than 870 expert and master technicians from across the Hyundai Motor UK network took part its UK Skills Olympics recently, when they competed for a chance to represent the UK at the European Skills Olympics in September.
After a series of remote tests, the top 12 were selected to compete over two days at Hyundai’s High Wycombe-based training centre where a range of practical fault-finding diagnostics and product range knowledge assessments were held.
Liam Hendry from Macklin Motors Hyundai in Dunfermline was named the overall winner, ahead of Jamie Robinson from Endeavour Hyundai, Ipswich, and Jacob Godfrey, Brooklyn Hyundai, Seaford.
Phil Weston, technical training and development manager, Hyundai Motor UK said:
“The UK Skills Olympics is designed to challenge even the highest of skilled master technicians and it’s satisfying to see performances continue to be to a very high standard. Liam will represent both Macklin Motors and Hyundai Motor UK at the European event in September, where I am sure we will see him returning with an even greater honour.”
