Linton-based family run bodyshop Cooper Barnes Automotive, which won Medium Bodyshop of the Year at the 2023 Bodyshop Magazine Awards, is riding on its continued success by expanding into another unit.
Neil Hamilton-Meikle, sales and marketing manager, said: “We are very proud to now hold 19 manufacturer approvals and this has increased our workload significantly. Such is this increase, that we brought our expansion plans forward.
“Not only are we installing an additional four dedicated EV bays on our current site, we have acquired a 12,000-sqft site next-door-but-one from our current unit and will be offering in-house ADAS calibrations, service ramps, an MOT bay and detailing and PPF wraps.
“In addition to a steep increase in body repairs, we realised that customers were wanting a more rounded and complete service, not just bodyshop, but annual servicing, mechanical and MOTs, in addition to vehicle enhancements to keep their vehicles looking their best,” he added.
To cope with the additional workload and services that Cooper Barnes now offers, the Cambridgeshire business has taken on more staff and is putting existing team members through extensive training. “We want to ensure the service we provide, and have been recognised for, continues into what is a very exciting next phase for us,” Hamilton-Meikle concluded.
