Apprentice of the Year win celebrated by TruckEast Norwich
TruckEast Norwich is celebrating after its three-year HGV technician Toby Hull collected the prestigious Scania Apprentice of the Year Award.
Hull, an improver technician and World Skills UK finalist who has recently qualified with a distinction from his three-year HGV technical apprenticeship, collected his award at Scania’s annual graduation and awards celebration at Silverstone racing circuit.
The national awards, held in conjunction with training provider Remit, recognise the highest-achieving apprentices within the network.
Hull said: “The competition was tough and really tested what we’ve learnt so far. Since I started my apprenticeship I had my sights set on winning this award, so I feel proud knowing what I am capable of and being recognised amongst Scania.”
Group aftersales director Martyn Clipston added:
“We’re proud of Toby and how far he’s come since joining us in 2021; his hard work and dedication have paid off. He’s an inspiration for those looking to join our industry and we can’t wait to see his career flourish.”
Hull will now compete in the IMI World Skills UK heavy vehicle technology finals in Manchester against the UK’s best apprentices.
